Welcome to Experience Korea, a blog tailored for the U.S. Embassy Seoul community. Most of us spend two years at any given post and though it may seem like a long time when we first arrive in country, many of us are surprised at how quickly time flies and we are making arrangements for a pack out to our next assignment.  For Embassy personnel not intimately familiar with East Asia, Korea can be a daunting experience.  The sights, sounds, scents and tastes can be overwhelming, challenging and confusing.  This blog was designed to help put context to your experiences on the peninsula.  With insights on Korean history, culture, cuisine, language, and must-see places,  we hope Experience Korea can help add context to your own experiences.  Importantly, this blog is interactive.  Your personal observations and recommendations via posts, photos and videos will benefit everyone.
